OTP emails help confirm access to an inbox, but they are only one part of account security. How you handle the code matters.
Check the sender
Before copying a code, make sure the message came from the service you expected. Be cautious with unexpected OTP messages because they can indicate someone else is trying to create or access an account.
Use codes quickly
Most OTP codes expire. Keep the inbox open, copy the code carefully and avoid sharing it with anyone. A legitimate service should not ask you to send the code to support chat.
Temporary inbox limits
Temporary email can receive many OTP messages, but some services block disposable domains. For important accounts, use a permanent email and enable stronger security methods.
